Ruthie was a young lady much in love with Richard, a man she had never met and who was not not interested in meeting her. Regardless, every night for five minutes she tried to inspire Richard over the phone while he tried to avoid her. Split-screen technique was used in this live show, enabling the viewer to see both Ruthie at home and Richard at his desk at the advertising agency where he worked. The idea for this series originated on the Robert Q. Lewis radio program, on which Ruthie's telephone adventures had been featured for about a year.

I think that Scott Baio is a great actor. He has a lot of talent. I love Happy Days. Chaci is my fav character. I just started watching Charles in Charge and now I am addicted to both shows.
