There are several variants of the nice "Charles in Charge"
theme, though the lyrics always remained the same. First of all
there is a big difference between Pembrokes and Powells seasons:
the Powells version has a more modern sound. But in the middle of
the Pembrokes season the theme was also changed, but very slightly.

Lyrics:
New boy in the neighborhood
L ives downstairs and it's understood.
He's there just to take good care of me,
Like he's one of the family.
Charles in Charge of our days and our nights,
Charles in Charge of our wrongs and our rights!
And I sing, I want, I want Charles in Charge of me.
Charles in Charge of our days and our nights,
Charles in Charge of our wrongs and our rights!
And I sing, I want, I want Charles in Charge of me.
This is the information you may be interested in, that I received
from Eric Tomren.
"Me and my brother found your site and I just thought you might
be interested that an industrial band by the name of Electric Hellfire
Club covered the CiC theme song. This is off of a compilation called
TV Terror:Felching A Dead Horse on Reconstriction Records. The lyrics
are changed though to make the song about Charles Manson. At the
beginning and end are sound clips of Charles Manson and the lyrics
are changed such as "Charles In Charge of my guns and my knives"
"Charles In Charge of who lives and who dies". Just thought you
might be interested to know this info. It's a pretty faithful cover
except for the change of subject matter."
You can find an information about this group on their Official
Website. Maybe one of you has the CD with this song and can
convert it to mp3 or wav format? I'd be interested in listening
this song, though I hate all satanistic groups kind of Ellectric
Hellfire Club.
This is the information that I received from Morgan

"The Christian punk band Relient K (www.relientk.com or www.gotee.com)
has done a cover of it, creating a new last verse. The song goes
like this:
New boy in the neighborhood
Lives downstairs and It's understood
He's there just to take good care of me
Like he's one of the family
Charles in charge of our days and our nights
Charles in charge of our wrongs and our rights
So I say I want Charles in charge of me
Charles I love you, I love you 'till the end
And I love Buddy, cause he's your best friend
Let's go hang out, you me and Jesus at your mom's pizza parlor
And maybe you can hook me up with that girl that's from baywatch
and
On your show.
